David Johnson originated a new innovative design in breakaways. The idea came in effect due to the frustration of having to constantly replace breakaways when roping all day long. The idea was put into play when David's father, Troy, started playing with materials in his backyard workshop. The product was tested throughout the summer and after experimenting with different materials, Double A Breakaway was formed. By the end of the summer, Double A Breakaway was in full swing and started out being sold to friends and to those at high school and professional level rodeo roping events.
